Prodigy. He was one half of the iconic east coast duo known as Mobb Deep, who were known for their gritty style that added to the East coast sound of hip hop. Prodigy started doing music pretty early, starting up the group with his counterpart Havoc when they were in high school. One big way that the duo helped push hip hop forward was participating in the East coast-west coast rivalry that went on in the 90s. 
After having a 27 year career in music, he past away after a lifelong battle with sickle-cell-anemia in 2017.
