By 2020 I had done a lot of thinking on how I wanted to be known as an artist. I really struggled with finding out how to have a distinct and recognizable style as an artist. How do I make a drawing that looks like Jayce Hall made this and not some random Joe across the street? That is when I stumbled upon a video of someone drawing with words. After seeing it I wondered how I could bring something to the table. I did a little research on this style called "Micrography" and found that not very many people had attempted to take this approach and go full realism. I decided then that my goal was going to be to push my own limits, and the limits of this style to see just how realistic you can get. I want people to see my drawings from 5 feet away and think its just a realistic drawing, but when they get up close and personal with it, you can see the hours poured into writing words/names/phrases thousands of times. The last 3 years have been spent seeing how far you can push the limits of this style and I have been having an incredible amount of fun doing so!
