Chancellor Bennett, better known as Chance the Rapper an American rapper, singer, songwriter, record producer, activist, actor, and philanthropist from Chicago Illinois. He has had a fun story to watch unfold as he has made quite the name for himself without a record deal releasing all of his music for free for years. He won a grammy for his mixtape Coloring Book which is the first project to win Best Rap Album by being a streaming only album. It is fun hearing influences in his music from musicians in the rap scene like Kanye West and Lil Wayne, to older genres like James Brown or Prince, and even the gospel influences of Kirk Franklin. Along with being a successful musician he is also involved in social activism in the Chicago community where he lives. Some of his work goes to support Chicago youth includes hosting Open Mike nights for Chicago-area high school students, to Warmest Winter making coats/sleeping bags for houseless people in Chicago which have manifested into his organization that he co-created called SocialWorks. Overall he clearly is doing some amazing things and it was a pleasure to draw him.
This print/original piece is 11x14 which is a great medium size! A portion of the proceeds that I recieve from this drawing will go towards his nonprofit!
